Business Telecom Solutions (BTS) Privacy Statement

1. Introduction
Business Telecom Solutions (BTS), a division of Koninklijke Verenigde Scheepsagenturen B.V. (KVSA), offers a range of different telecom products and solutions. Our policy is to offer added value to present and future customers by providing information, advice and service. BTS aims to make a comprehensive level of information available to customers via its website www.featurefax.co.uk and associated domains so that customers return to the site and are prepared to identify themselves by requesting publications, newsletters or by asking questions. Based on the information it obtains from its website about pages visited about visitor behaviour, BTS may decide to make visitors a customised offer, thus offering advantages to both parties. 

The purpose of these privacy rules is to ensure that the storage of personal details complies with the Dutch Personal Data Protection Act (Wet Bescherming Persoonsgegevens), which was passed by Parliament on 6 July 2000 and became law on 1 January 2001.

2. Information and use
We collect information about our visitors from various parts of our website and the associated domains. We do this for the following reasons:

  1. To offer our customers an information-gathering service 
  2. To identify and subsequently meet our visitors’ needs by providing appropriate website content
  3. To measure customer satisfaction in order to fine-tune our services
  4. To obtain information about our visitors with a view to making them an offer which in our view meets one of their needs. Analysing our visitors’ preferences enables us to customise each offer. 

We do not store any personal details other than those which visitors provide themselves. 

3. Registration
You can sign up to join the BTS mailing list on our website. We will not send you any unsolicited e-mail (spam). You can unsubscribe from our mailing list by clicking on the link at the bottom of the newsletter. If you are unable to remove your details from the list, send an e-mail to webmaster@bts.net and we will do this for you. You will be asked to provide certain details on the mailing list registration form; we will use these details to improve our services and provide you with tailor-made information by e-mail, fax and/or SMS.

BTS will not pass on the e-mail addresses it receives to third parties. Our site may contain links to other Internet sites. BTS is not responsible for the privacy rules or the content of these other sites.

4. Cookies
A cookie is a small text file containing information about the user that is saved on a visitor’s hard disk. Cookies do not contain personal information about visitors. They allow us to recognise a visitor when they return to the website and thus display the appropriate information.

The use of cookies is now generally accepted. We use cookies so that we can recognise visitors and thus provide them with better service. Visitors who set their browsers to refuse cookies will have only limited access to the site. 

5. IP addresses
We use IP addresses to check or identify the names of visitors’ companies in our database. There is no risk of personal details being revealed. 

6. Entry
Statistical parameters are entered exclusively by our own staff. 

7. Security
We have implemented comprehensive security measures on our website to ensure that user information is secure. If users enter confidential or sensitive information via the website, this information will be secure both on and off line.

8. Altering, adding to and requesting personal details
If your personal details change or you no longer wish to make use of our services, we will make it possible for you to change the information provided to us. You can do this by sending an e-mail to info@bts.net. You can also send an e-mail asking to view the personal details we have stored. We will only provide stored details to the e-mail address of the party submitting the request. 

9. Amendments to privacy rules
Should we decide to amend our privacy rules, we will announce the changes on our website and in our newsletter. This will ensure that visitors are kept up to date on what information we are collecting about them, how we use this information, and under what circumstances and to whom we make this information available.

Should we decide at some time in the future to use person-specific information for any purpose other than that described in the privacy rules, we will first inform the users by e-mail when we receive the person-specific information. Users will then be able to decide whether or not to permit us to use this information for that particular purpose. 

We will use the information on this site pursuant to the privacy rules under which it was obtained. 

10. Final provision
In order to give everyone the opportunity to evaluate these privacy rules in the light of the Personal Data Protection Act, we will send a copy of the unabridged Act to any party who submits a request to that effect by e-mail (info@bts.net).

The use of our website by any visitor implies agreement with this privacy statement.
